I was born in Sheffield, South Yorkshire in 1946. I married Dave in 1967 and we have three adult children, Matthew, Siân and Kirsty along with seven grandchildren ranging in age from Brad at 23 down to Isaac at 3. We also now have a great-granddaughter of just fifteen months of age, Lily Grace.
I began writing when I was around 8 years old, writing 'compositions' at junior school that became books with chapters.
In 1995 I sent Beautiful to a publisher and as we reached the contract stage the publisher went into liquidation. It was all to do with Eric Cantona and leaping over the barrier - don't ask!
As a result, the book was consigned to the attic in dejected disgust but in 2013 it was dragged out again for an enforced complete re-type. The original was written on an Amstrad 8256 and the only thing that remained was one hard copy.
I am not a typist and it was painfully reworked over two years, submitted to Bloodhound Books who, within three days of reading it, offered me a contract. 31 August 2015 it was launched, to my overwhelming delight.
Following the outstanding (and to me, unexpected) success of Beautiful, I began a sequel on 27 December 2015, finishing it on 19 March 2016. The new novel, Angel, was launched on 7 May 2016.
Publication of my third novel, 34 Days, went ahead on 3 October 2016 while desperately trying to find another Amstrad marvel written many years ago called Essence of Lavender. This has now been re-worked under the new title of Winterscroft, and was launched on 24 February 2017. I am confident the old draft will surface any time now!
Following on from this, the sequel to 34 Days, Strategy, was released on 10 August 2017, because I still had some murder or other to clear up from 34 Days - necessary murder, of course.
And then along came Captor, released to the world on 13 February 2018.
The next launch will be Game Players in May 2018, followed by Malignant in October 2018. I am a very busy author!
I am a Sheffield Wednesday supporter with blue blood in my veins! This will occasionally crop up in my books...
My genre is murder - necessary murder.
